How to work out a harmony?
I have to write a song for my GCSE music course and have the basic tune, lyrics etc. I was wondering if anyone knows a simple method to work out harmonies for voice or piano?
Many thanks in advance!
The easiest is too take a note from the chord (providing you have worked out the chordal accompaniment) at each point in the melody - a note different than the melody note. This usually gives you a third or a fifth to build a harmony with.
