Phlegm or Vibrato?
Firstly, I'm not sure if I even have a vibrato.. i'm 17.
Does everyone have a natural vibrato in them?
I have read that oversupporting the sound (using too much air) will prevent a vibrato. So I tried and used less air...
Here's the problem ; When I use less air, I can here a sound like a tremelo (fast vibrato), but I always find that I have phlegm in my throat and I am not sure if that sound is really my natural vibrato or my phlegm...
Any advice or suggestions on my problem??
Sorry for being so disgusting.. But I would really love to be able to vibrato strong and naturally.
Honestly you can almost never use TOO MUCH air. There is a point where you can oversing, but that's more using too much throat than air. The phlegm usually causes a more raspy sound, not really vibrato. Everyone is capable of vibrato, but some is faster than others.
Just use as much air as feels natural. Remember to pull from your lower stomach and not use your throat as much as your belly for the sound.
