Which MXR overdrive pedal should I go with?

I'm interested in the MXR Distortion+, Distortion III, and the GT-OD. The only one I haven't actually heard is the GT-OD. My style involves pushing a semi-clean amp into distortion using an overdrive or distortion pedal, and I'd like something a little transparent. My style of playing involves mainly a lot of classic rock and blues, and some of my favorite artists are Jeff Beck, Gary Moore, and Rush. A modern band I really like is Alter Bridge. Their lead guitarist has a great tone in my opinion. I like the kind of pedal that borderlines an overdrive and a distortion. There are definitely great brands out there, I just happen to like MXR products. Any suggestions?

I can't speak on MXR products but I would highly recommend you check out the Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde Overdrive/Distortion pedal. It's awesome and versatile.
