It's during breeding of thoroughbreds. They use a teaser horse to put the female at ease before whisking him away and letting the stallion in to breed. What is the teaser horse called?

It is called just that, a "Teaser Horse". They are used so they c an see how receptive the mare will be. In the large Thoroughbred Farms, it takes five people to assist in breeding. Mares are hobbled and the back feet are heavily padded. This is for the protection of the stallion. I hate the term "Breeding shed". It is hardly a shed. Every precaution is taken for the safety of both the stallion and the mare. That is why teaser horses are used, to make sure the mare isn't already irritated and may harm the stallion. Make no mistake, the teaser horse is heavily padded so that he is also protected from the mare. Much thought and preparation is involved in the Thoroughbred breeding program.
