Should I put a new pickup in my guitar?
Hi, I have a 2004 Fender 1969 Fender Mustang reissue in Sonic Blue with a tortoise shell brown pick guard. It is in mint condition. All stock parts, and plays like a dream. It's my baby. I am leaning towards putting a white DiMarzio Super Distortion pickup in the bridge position. But I'm sort of hesitant because I don't want to have it put in and then hate it's tone. What should I do? Does anyone think it would sound good? Especially with my Vox VT-50 and my Big Muff?
hmmm thats hard because you never know what your going to get if you change your guitar.. and you said it plays like a dream and its your baby, might as well keep it how you like it. if you are serious about it, i would google and youtube it, see if you can find somebody who has done it and what the results were. i wouldnt do anything to my baby without triple checking it out first.
