Need help choosing a guitar multi-effects pedal! Boss vs. Line 6?
Hey!
Alright, so I decided on a multi-effects pedal. I would normally just get individual stompboxes, but money is a problem there and I think a single multi-effects board would be my best option.
I'm not really sure what to get. I have some choices in mind, but they all look good.
What I am really looking for is a multi-effects that's good in delay, tremolo, wah...etc. I don't need one that's good in distortion which multi-effect pedals lack in.
I can spend around $350 after tax.

I dislike Line 6, I feel that their products tend to play very "flat" and compressed.
If you're going to go for a Boss multifx, get one of the GT-x series. They're massively configurable, you can do a lot of crazy stuff with 'em. You're absolutely right on the money in terms of not using a multifx for distortion, I totally agree with you.
That said, if you do want a multifx pedal that does pretty decent distortion, check out the Boss OD-20. Not all of the models are entirely usable, but it does do a decent Metal Zone, a decent general metal tone, a few good tubescreamer-ish tones, etc.
I bought the GT-3 for 100$ used at Guitar Center... love it. I can get all kinds of sounds out of it. Good times.
