Got a problem with a bass and effects pedal?
I'm a bassist who has just started to use effects pedals. My problem is that when I use my Boss overdrive pedal with my Shergold Marathon bass, the sound is really bad.
The issue I have is that my set-up is rather strange. The bass is stereo, so I use a stereo to dual-mono cable and then run both signals through a passive mixer, placing the effects pedal on one signal and leaving the other as a clean sound.
Any ideas what the problem is?
Try less "overdrive" or gain on the pedal, the bass is not like a 6 string it doesn't need so much punch to create the sound you may be after.
I'm sure you've already tried that though.
