Why does my truck slow down when i floor the gas pedal?
I bought a 1999 GMC Sonoma quarter ton truck about a week ago. it runs great, and is in great shape inside and out. the only problem is, when i floor the gas pedal, the engine revs up like you would expect, but the truck slows down, almost like the engine isn't powering the wheels, or isn't powering them as much. is it supposed to be like that? is there anything basic i can do to fix it?
Sounds like the transmission is slipping if it's automatic. Check the fluid.
If it manual transmission, the clutch is slipping.
