What does Overdrive do on a Jeep Liberty?
I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty and it has this button that turns on and off Overdrive. What effect does that have on my driving?
What is does is keeps the transmission from ingauging the overdrive ratios. IE one less than 1 to 1. This means the motor RPMs are higher on the highway so you get less gas mileage but you make more HP if you are towing so you dont smoke the Trans going up a steep hill with a load and have your trans shift up and down.
