Please tell me what the best order for these guitar pedals is?
I currently have an orange valve amp
and my pedals are:
WAH
TUNER
DELAY
VOLUME PEDAL
MXR BOOST PEDAL
My ideal setup/what I want to achieve with the best possible tone is:
Use the overdrive off of the amp because it sounds great, Clarity from the delay, and mainly a boost thats good enough for lead parts (ie where would the best place for my volume boost and mxr to go so that i can edit the volume of my guitar and allow a big boost for solos)
I also have an effects loop so think it would be good to utilise this!

The best order for your effects set up is as follows:
Guitar into wah into amp. (Wah pedals work best in this fashion.)
Effects loop out into tuner.
Tuner into boost.
Boost into volume pedal.
Volume pedal into delay.
Delay into effects return.
As a general rule you want the volume before the delay so that you can do volume swells with the delay after it. This way the volume pedal does NOT cut off the echos.
The standard order of effects is usually preamps first, this includes distortions/overdrives/boosts/E.Q., etc.. Next is modulation effects like chorus/flange/phaser/ etc. Then Time based effects like harmonizers and delay/echo/reverb. There are various utility devices that can be used in several spots. like tuners, and compressors which are usually in front of the preamps. Noise gates are often right after modulation effects. As mentioned, volume pedals are usually before the final delay or reverb.
The order I have given will allow you to control the gain from the guitar and still give you a big boost for leads. If I were to add an effect to this, it would be a chorus pedal after the boost pedal and before the volume pedal.
