A few guitar distortion/overdrive pedal questions?
To start off I play everything. With that said I have a Ibanez RG470 with Dimarzio afterstock pick ups. I have a Line 6 Spider III (which gives 3 distorted channels) . Now what I am looking for is a pedal to boost the distortion and if I want give me nice overdrive. So i was looking at the MXR distortion plus, the MXR distortion. I play some hendrix and cream. So any ideas what would be good? The pedals would be too give me that overdriven tone, and if I wanted to boost my distortion to give me a warmer more distorted tone.
I am also probably getting a Ibanez Fuzz. Is that a good pedal? Has nothing to do with the other pedals.
With the amp you have, a pedal is not necessary. You have so many different options available on your amp. A gain pedal would really only be useful on the clean channel, as it would sound horrible trying to boost the distortion channels. With the options your amp provides, you should be able to dial in any sound you want, from country clean, to high gain death metal and everything in between.
