Recommended effects pedals?
I have a Line 6 Spider II 210, so it's got a ton of effects, so i want to know which pedals won't just do the same thing. I'm obviously gunna try it myself, but i'm just looking for other opinions. The pedals I'm looking at now are the mxr mc-402, the Digitech EX-7 Expression Factory, the Vox Clyde McCoy Wah, and the Boss DS-1 Distortion Pedal.
Oh, just as a note, I don't plan on only buying one pedal.
The best disortion that can be produced is pure tube overdrive; get your hands on a low-wattage tube preamp or head just for your distorion effects.
If you intend to perform and/or play professionally, don't forget the ESSENTIAL stand-alone volume pedal and also an in-line strobe tuner.
Something that I'm starting to check out is guitar MIDI, which allows you to use any synth module for a variety of sounds that can't be reproduced using the output signal of your guitar. Check this out for a basic setup:
