Guitar Sound Changes when playing live?
Hey people, i had 2 gigs lately with my band and in both gigs i used the boss me-25 effects pedal. When playing clean the tone was ok just like the studio, but when i turned to a distortion patch the tone was very bad, it was not the sound i had at home and in the studio. It seems that when i connect my pedal to the machines used at a gig the sound changes to the worse. What causes this , and how can i resolve my problem?
location sound systems generally suck.
they will distort the sound. so, make sure that you test any effects that you plan on using during the gig beforehand. if you cannot, there is not much else you can do but try to adjust on the fly.

also the acoustics of the joint greatly effect what your ears perceive...playing in a room is a lot different than playing at a bar. plus, studios are controlled environments; you can pretty much get whatever sound you want easily.
