I'm looking into a looper effect pedal for my guitar. What should I invest in?
I want a professional oppinion. I'm looking for something that'll be an advantage both live with/without my band and for recording purposes.

There really is no substitute.

For the difference in price however, the RC-50 is well worth it.
You might also expand on the RC-50 by getting a BOSS GT-10 which has a built in looper which will add yet another layer of sound for you. Add another RC-50 or RC-20 and a Roland Keyboard synthesizer like the Juno-G (which also records) and you are a one man symphony orchestra. I play guitar, bass, and I also have Juno-G. I write and record all my own music and with the RC-50 I could take myself live, play a different instrument on every song and gig almost anywhere locally as a virtual orchestra.
