Individual Pedals or Multi-Effect Board?
Alright, for guitar which is better to have, individual pedals or multi effect board? I've purchased a couple of pedals in my time, and with every pedal you need a cord and also an adapter to supply it (battery free), and then some of the pedals are not AC power supply compatible, so you must purchase the 9V batteries. Then to go with all of this, you buy a new pedal get home and the f*****g thing doesn't work, so then there's the trip back to the GC! Is it better to have a multi effect board, like the Line 6 X3 Live, it seems like that is a sure fire shot! I need some opinions, because I'm getting worn out on individual pedals!
Individual pedals sound better and offer more flexability, so long as you're buying decent ones.
As for the power supply thing, buy a dc power brick that will power them all - either one which has multiple outputs or a single wall block which has one plug and then buy a cable called a "daisy chain" to get more plugs. Make sure the current on the supply can handle all the pedals.
I've never had a guitar pedal not work, and i own 17 of the things, some of which are supposed to be unreliable - one of which is home made (i use 4 power supplys due to current loads), i would say you've been unlucky. if you try them in the shop before taking them home thats a far better idea.
If you want the flexability and good sound then stick with seperates, get a good power supply and some good patch cables. If you want convenience then get something like the boss me-50. The big line 6 boards are ok too i guess.
