Wah Wah Pedal?
When I hook my bad horsie pedal up to my amp with no distortion it sounds great but when i hook it up with distortion then it just sounds like a dj scratching... is it just like this with every pedal
this is my first pedal clearly
Distortion is basically an overloaded preamp, and it amplifies everything indiscriminately, the quiet buzz of the pickups, interference, everything. Therefore, distortion should always be the last in the chain of effects, only to be followed by a noise gate or a compressor that will cut off the sounds quieter than your playing. Alternatively, your distortion should have something called either gain or level or such, which is the input level - reduce that to eliminate some of the noise. The good news is that the wah has basically nothing to do with the noise. Other effects - chorus, flanger, phaser, delay/echo, everything except overdrives and distrotions (esentially the same thing) does not pre-amplify and therefore won't cause this kind of problems.
