what guitar effects pedal should i get to sound like jack white?
I found out what pedal effects jack white uses and i want to get them all but their pricey. i have a choice of get one of these three MXR Micro Amp, Digitech whammy, Electro Harmonix big muff, or Electro harmonix POG. please tell me what will help me sound the most like jack white. Thanks!
If you're looking for the high-pitched screeching solo sounds, that's all Whammy. That's the pedal that, when you hear it, you think of Jack White. It's what he uses to get his sound on the Black Math and Icky Thump solos as well as a lot of other songs. And it also does the low-octave stuff like Blue Orchid and the faux bass line on The Hardest Button to Button.
Really, the short answer to your question is: whammy.
But to cover the other ones...
I'm pretty sure the POG is almost the same as the Whammy pedal. It has more options, but Jack only uses it for octaves and he definitely uses the Whammy more often.
The Big Muff will give you his "fuzzy" or "magnetic" sound. This is actually the pedal I want next. It's a very cool tone.

Pretty much all the MXR Micro Amp does is boost your sound when you want it to. Doesn't do very much for tone, so it's not essential. And not really iconic of Jack White.
So if you can only get one pedal, I would say choose which sound you want more: the high-pitched screech of the Whammy or the fuzz of the Big Muff. Both are integral to Jack's sound and I would say he uses at least one of those two pedals in... probably 80% of his songs. Listen to Black Math for example.
At 1:05 the Big Muff kicks in. Then the solo at 1:56 is very dependent on the Whammy pedal's effects. So pick a sound and go get that pedal. If it's possible for you to get both, definitely do so. Both of them combined will give you the tone that most resembles his.
Have fun
