This is one I saw recently (from Miss Kris, perhaps?) and I fell in love. Spunky, classic, feminine and beautiful. I love the nicknames Tavie or Via. I also have quite a musical background and so the similarities between Octavia and Octave are quite cool.

Sounds incomplete compared to Octavia, and slightly more masculine.

Like Nova Scotia? This is actually quite cute! I like it although I'm sure that silly people would pronounce it Scott-ee-yuh which would annoy me to bits.

Similar to Nora but not quite as cute. This sounds like a nickname. I met a little girl named Nola once, but it was a nickname for Shinola. I don't really like it but it's kind of cute.

Firstly, I adore that it means "chasing a butterfly" in Native American-Hopi. That's adorable. I'd be more likely to use this name for a pet than a baby -- it has that pet feel to it.

Anything that can easily be shortened to Sissy in my books isn't a good thing. I also dislike names that are so clearly places, it's just a personal thing.
BEST: Octavia, WORST: Octavie.
