Is a DigiTech Death Metal Distortion Pedal Combatable with my Bass?

Is a DigiTech Death Metal Distortion Pedal Compatable with my Bass Guitar? It problably is I'm just not sure if all Distortion Pedals are Bass compatable or not I've never bought a Distortion Pedal before. Also for those that know which one sounds better a BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone or a DigiTech Death Metal?
I've also found another Distortion Pedal called the DigiTech Grunge Distortion Pedal, it, like the others, sounds great. Which would be the best of the three in your opinion for a person who's just looking for a good Overdrive sound for his Bass?

You might just want to stick with a plain old distortion pedal, like a Boss ODB-3. Anything more and you're going to lose your tone and your bass will sound like a bad of mud. The key to effect on bass is not too much. Best yet, go to your local music store and try some effects out. I've found that that either pedal you mention loses the bottom end. It's called a bass because of the bass.
