What is tone, distortion, delay, and reverb as in music?
a short and simple definition for each would be alright. thank you
This is from a musicians standpoint
Tone- The overall sound of your rig (equipment with instrument)
Distortion- Most commonly used with a pedal, but overloading the signal from your guitar to the amp thus making a distorted sound. Or just jacking up the volumes and making a natural distortion.
Delay- Makes notes or sounds repeat themselves. The distance between the sounds is determined by the user and his or her settings.
Reverb- Is the sound of the waves of music you are playing bouncing back at you and around you. In pedals usually there are different settings (hall, church, etc etc).
