What is a good Punk Rock Wah Pedal?
Ie, would need a nice clean tone, but also a good overdriven tone. Kind of looking at the Crybaby 535q at the moment, as it seems to be the one with raving reviews and not overpriced, at just $125 on Amazon. Any thoughts on alternatives?, i a really like the gain boost button, that will serve me well i think.
So Basically, what your saying is, i could go a crybaby classic, and buy a boss DS-1, to go with my OD-3 for the distorted wah i like so much?, Thats a somewhat genius plan.
I have a Vox wah pedal. It is just a wah and no other combination of effects. The original Crybaby is good but be careful of the Crybabys that came out later. Some of those pedals tend to mix up effects until it sounds like a clone of Jimi Hendrix. You can always add distortion, phasers, flanges, and stuff like that later on.
Back in the 1980s, most of my musician friends who were into punk and new wave hated my wah pedal. They preferred the straight hard edge of the guitar with limited effects.
Later on I was in a garage band in the 1990s and groups like Nirvana and Pearl Jam were starting to bring that sound back. So I started using my wah pedal again.
