looking for electric acoustic guitar?
So ive gotten pretty into playing my acoustic guitar and i want to save up for a new acoustic electric guitar. I want one that has a darker shade on the outer rims of the guitar face and gets lighter towards the center. I dont want to spend tons of money on a guitar right now though. about 250$.
i was wondering if you have any suggestions?
this is what i want my guitar to look like. your thoughts on this one?

I'm not a huge fan of Fender acoustics and acoustic-electrics. Fender makes fantastic electric guitars and basses, but the acoustics aren't actually designed by Fender, but rather are mass produced and sold under the Fender name. They tend to feel and sound rather generic and I've never known a professional guitarist who played Fender acoustics or acoustic-electrics.
For the same price or a few dollars more, I'd recommend trying some of Ibanez's acoustic-electrics. They're built like rocks, sound incredible and are often nicer than guitars costing twice as much. They're also famous for having really thin necks and low action, which makes them more comfortable than most acoustics to play. I'm female and have small hands, so I'm partial to guitars that have thin necks and low action. A couple years ago when I was shopping for a new acoustic-electric, I expected I'd have to pay a fortune for a Taylor or Martin. After test driving about every brand at Guitar Center, I found most of the necks were too chunky for me to play them comfortably. I picked up an Ibanez on a whim and was amazed not only by the sound, but by the feel of the guitar. It played as easily as an electric and cost a fraction of what I expected to pay for a great guitar.
I'll post some links to guitars worth considering, all of which have thin necks, low action and overwhelmingly positive reviews. If you spend a couple hours at a guitar store comparing guitars, chances are you'll find one that just feels like it belongs in your hands. Ultimately, the way your guitar sounds and feels to you is more important than anyone else's opinion or the name on the headstock. But it's definitely worth checking out brands other than Fender, since there are manufacturers who offer a lot more bang for your buck.

It's the sort of instrument that would serve you well for decades and you could pass down to your children.)
