Multi-Effect Guitar Pedals?
Right now the only pedal I have for my electric guitar is a Boss DS-1. I'm looking to expand my range of effects and I've heard from multiple sources that I should look into getting a multi-effect pedal board over individual pedals. However, I'm clueless as to what I should be looking for / what's good.
I guess if I had to prioritize the types of effects I'd like to have at my disposal, they'd be:
-Wah
-Delay
-Tremolo
-Chorus
-Flanger
-Octave
-Phaser
I don't expect to be able to find a stompbox with all these effects in my price range, but I'm looking for some suggestions as to what offers a decent selection combined with a good tone at a fair price.
(Also, if you think there are other effects that I should consider, maybe ones that are common in many multi-effect pedals, let me know)
You list 7 pedals and you have already paid for one more. So that's eight pedals at an average cost of around $89 to $159 if you are buying the best pedals you can find. That totals out to more than $500. So, what if you went into a store to buy all of those pedals and the dealer told you that for $500 he was willing to include practically every effects pedal that BOSS makes including every BOSS pedal on your list and throw in a Boss Loop Station to boot. What would you tell him? Duh! It's like a no brainer, right? Well, you can have that deal. Then, I looked at the BOSS VE-20 vocal processor because I also sing. I then looked at some Roland (who makes BOSS effects) keyboards synthesizers. So, now I have a Roland Juno-G keyboard synthesizer and a BOSS GT-10, as well. All of my effects at the moment are Roland/BOSS effects and I get a lot of great comments on my sound from professional musicians asking what kind of equipment I'm using. You won't be sorry that you bought a GT-10. My guess is you'll never need another effects pedal unless they invent a new effects that you absolutely must have.
