does bypassing an effect or compressor in a daw actually make it disappear(by that i mean disable it?
im not sure exactly what bypassing does, if i had delay on a track and i bypassed it, i know it would hide the sound while listening to the track but if i were to extract the song would the effect that i bypassed be heard or would it not be there since i bypassed it?
That depends on the application. You can bypass the song and extract the part you wanted. Or you could bypass the song and extract the part you bypassed. Basically you can extract either part you choose to in most applications. Some songs you might want to bypass the vocals and extract the chorus. While other times you might want the vocals and bypass the chorus. It doesn't disable it but instead just blocks the signals you do not want. When you do extract or save then it will ignore the part you bypassed and will not be in the final file.
