what happened to my guitar pedals?
I have 3 pedals (metal care boss, compression sustainer boss, and tube screamer ibanez) they were all connected to one amp (raven) one day i try to play my guitar and it didn't work, so I thought it was the cable, so i bought a new cable and it still didn't work, so then i tested out each individual pedal and none of them work. what happened? they are not dirty and its not the power supply, i also checked the guitar and the amp and they are both fine, if you can please tell me what happend and how to fix it (if it can be fixed) thank you
Ok, my guitarist in my band has this problem all the time.
Is your power supply the correct rating for the pedals? If not, they may have burned out.
Do the lights come on?
Try using batteries and see if they work.
Try using just 1 pedal and see if it works.
Are the wires going into the correct inputs and outputs?
Are you going through the effects loop, if so, is the effects loop turned up?
Is your guitar volume on?
Does the guitar play when no pedals are plugged in?
Did you check the output controls of your pedals? All three of your pedals have a gain or setting that can eliminate all volume coming out if that pedal is engaged.
Are all the wires plugged in all the way to the pedals, guitar, amp?
Are you plugged into the input of the amp?
Put a wire in the amp input and tap it, do you hear anything?
Try plugging in to just 1 pedal at a time.
Try all of those, it should be able to help you trouble shoot your problem.
