Boss GT5 - Should be of shouldn't be?
I've played guitar for 2-3 years (purely and basically on acoustic). I mostly cover Alice in Chains or Opeth mellow material, or even wrote a few simple acoustic songs. And now I just want some electric stuffs to practice heavier music (heavy metal/prog rock, maybe a little extreme).
Already have an electric guitar and Boss DS-1 as a booster. I think I'll spend around 250 bucks for a guitar multi effects pedal. And of course the legendary Boss GT5 is not far from my aim (fairly easy to use, sound quality, versatility and price point).
But i still unsure about my *will be* decision.
Could you recommend some other good pedals or give me an advice? I will appreciate much!
The BOSS GT5 isn't a bad pick.
Of course, I am a BOSS fan from way back.
Somebody stole my Gibson Randy Rhodes Custom V... they made it as far as the parking lot. I came out from the bathroom and spotted this dude out the window. My roommate (who has a KILLER arm) jumped to the rescue and hurled my BOSS distortion pedal out the window and pegged dude in the back, knocking him down.
My bandmates were just pulling in, and recognized this guy, knocked flat, with my guitar case.
I rescued my gear and went back upstairs.
After getting hurled from a 2nd story window and knocking this guy on his face, then clattering to the asphalt, the BOSS worked perfectly, and 15 years later has never failed me.
