question about distortion pedals and settings?
ok so i have a marshall head stack and i am going to get a distortion pedal. but i have a question should i make my gain channel a clean and then add the distortion or should i make the gain channel still the same and try to boost it or should i just have like a minor gain and add the pedal ? cause so far ive been doing it with my gain i usually have it (about a 6) and then putting the pedal up. but it sounds horrible any advice ?
when using pedals use your clean channel. (on the amp) most rock bands turn their bass to 10 their mid to 0 and treble to 10. Me i turn my bass to 8 my mid to 10 and my treble to 8. experiment with it till you get the right tone. And the best distortion pedal I own is the Boss MT-2 Metal Zone in case you wondering.
