Is it fair that the UN labels Japan as 'racist' and 'xenophobic'?

The problem is that the UN is a Western organization, and they go by the Western definition of what racist means, which can be anything these days, and in Japan's case they are labelled 'racist' because they don't tolerate things like Sharia law, or allowing their main cities to become 70% black and white. So actually the Western definition of what racism is, is not accepted in the real world and has no relevance.
Am I correct in saying this?
@Trolleh - Unfortunately today in the Western world the term 'racist' is very loosely thrown around, so yes you would be considered racist for not wanting sharia law in your country.
As a Brit with a Japanese wife I can honestly say that I have never met with any racism when I am in Japan. Even though I used to expect it.
Although what is said behind my back I really don`t know, but my impression is that nobody really cares at all where I come from.
Remember that very many Japanese people are well traveled and have seen for themselves how other people live and how other societies are structured.
I have had small children stand, stare and point at me many times though. Some are very afraid of me, the scary white man, some are overjoyed to see such a strange creature as me. Such events are followed by much apologising by the parents, but, to be honest, I find it very amusing indeed.
Yes, there is racism, usually whipped up by the media, lately it has been the Chinese (jockeying for position as Asia`s number one economy with Japan) and the North Koreans (but they rather ask for it by whizzing rockets over Japan and by their continuing and incessant provocations against South Korea) but such things happen in all countries I would imagine.
Japan is an island nation and has only recently, in historical terms, come out of a prolonged period of isolation which prevented Japan from becoming a colony of us Europeans and which preserved their own, rather special, culture, so yes, they are rather wary of us gaijin.
I am not sure whether the UN is seen as a Western organistion by the Japanese though, even if I see it that way. I`ll have to ask a few of my friends about that.
To be absolutely honest with you, the longer I spend in Japan the more it seems like England, but just a bit less expensive these days.
Japan is a very nice place to live though, with mostly polite people and a very well ordered and cultured society.
