The Sims 2?
I know these games have been around forever, but I am totally NEW to them. My hubby is a die hard gamer and wanted me to have a game that I could enjoy too.
So he got me Sims 2. I love the concept of the game. The idea does sound fun. The thing that frustrates the crap out of me is the language! I don't know what the heck is going on.
WHY don't they speak a REAL language? How do I get past this? I think my character is depressed and insane. Some old guy keeps barging in her house and yelling at her and I can't make this rabbit go away. She won't get a job and refuses to do any of her hobbies. I don't know why the man is yelling at her. If this were in Engligh, I probably would enjoy it more.
Thanks for the answers so far, I do only have the base game. And now that you mention it, I did have her use the telescope. But she refuses to do anything and I don't know how to get her out of the house.
The Sims is a game of fulfilling needs. Keep those bars in the green. The bunny has come because your social is low. Talk to it or get your sim a friend. Also, make sure you have the free will turned off, this will make it easier for you to command your sim. There are still some things they won't do if they are in the red (like look for a job), but they will do what is necessary to bring up their low need.
The old guy may be someone coming over because you looked through the telescope during the day and they think you are spying on them. It may also be the psychiatrist if your aspiration level is in the red.
As far as the language, I agree it is annoying. That's why I just turn the sound off. I enjoy it more.
But as has been said before, keep those bars in the green and you'll be fine. Here's how:
Hunger bar - eat
Bladder - use a toilet
Social - talk with someone
Environment - decorate your house, clean house
Energy - sleep
Hygiene - shower
Fun - play a game, watch tv
For your aspiration level you need to fulfill wants and avoid fears. This will depend on the aspiration type you chose for your sim. Example: family sims want to get married and have kids, knowledge sims like to learn skills and have weird stuff happen to them (like seeing ghosts). Do those things to get your aspiration to platinum.
P.S. You can't use the maxmotives cheat it is a nightlife cheat.
