How should be regulated a graphic equalizer?

I know it depends a little on personal tastes and on the musical genre you're listening to.
I have a Marantz receiver with Audissey autocalibration controlling a 9-band graphic equalizer, but I wish to regulate it manually to create what to my ears is the best condition of listening.
My room is relatively small: 13 feet X 13, and I have this home theater system that I also use to listen to music.
Unfortunately I have to keep 2 large speakers in the corners of the room to no more than 15 cm from the wall.
How much should I raise the high freq? I arrive until the sound becomes clear without becoming unnaturally annoying? And lower freq? Until I hear no more "humming"? And the freq medium?
In addition I want to ask you at what cut-off frequency, for low frequency, should I set the receiver whereas I have a 26 cm sub powered at 200 watt and front speakers are large (they have a midrange and 2 woofers) and have a frequency range of 20-30000 Hz.

You dont care. This is only if you have an external subwoofer. You have LARGE speakers so tell the receiver you do not have a sub and your L/R speakers are LARGE.
The Audissey calibration usually does a decent job to compensate for your room and wall reflections.
If you are going to adjust to your 'personal' taste - we cannot advise you. It is personal taste and frankly is different for different types of music or Home Theater. But give the Audissey settings a try as they are setup NOT to make things sound good, but to compensate for room acoustics.
