Epson video projector audio output to RX microphone socket?
Hey, I'm very unfamiliar with audio electronics. I need to run the audio from a video projector to an RX microphone socket, and I'm not sure where to find an adapter, or if it can even be done. I'm showing a video at a banquet hall, and the only close connection to the hall's speaker system is the microphone socket. Is there any way for me to use this connection to play the audio, or am I out of luck?
You need a "direct box" and a female RCA to male 1/4" adapter. this will allow you to plug the audio out of your source into the adapter, the adapter into the direct box and the direct box into the microphone jack using a mic cable. An RCA Y cable would allow you to get both left and right signals into your mix. Your local music store should have a direct box. For a one time use you don't need anything expensive. Try this one:
